	The Uganda Women Tree Planting Movement (UWTPM) is a voluntary, Non profit making and non governmental organization which started in 1985 under the auspices of the National Council of Women by a team of the forward looking women to help bring together the isolated and small women groups countrywide to collectively address the growing problem of trees and tree products supply whose declining availability was having a devastating effect on the women folk customarily charged with the responsibility of collecting fuel wood for cooking and poles for building in the local cultures of Uganda. Through this website UWTPM wanted to keep its members and other NGO's, who are working in co-ordination with UWTPM, informed about the upcoming events and meetings. Also this website enhanced UWTPM's international presence as now this NGO can now be contacted by anyone anywhere in the world at anytime.
